Attention Healthcare Professionals,
The Utah Department of Commerce’s Division of Professional Licensing (DOPL) wants to inform licensees of DOPL impersonators targeting licensed healthcare professionals in Utah.
The impersonators are using a caller ID that appears to be from DOPL and claiming that there is an open investigation against you in Texas.
Remember:
• DOPL will NEVER demand money or sensitive information over the phone to resolve an investigation.
• DOPL will NEVER threaten you with immediate arrest or license suspension over the phone.
What to do:
• If you receive a suspicious phone call, HANG UP.
• Do not provide any information.
• You can verify any claims by calling DOPL directly at 801-530-6628.
• IF you happen to provide sensitive information during an encounter like this, the Federal Trade Commission provides recovery steps at reportfraud.ftc.gov.
