Salt Lake City — The Utah Department of Commerce’s Division of Professional Licensing (DOPL), working in collaboration with the Utah Division of Health and Human Services (DHHS), has issued updated guidance on how pharmacists can prescribe and administer the 2026-2027 influenza and COVID-19 vaccines.

DOPL encourages pharmacists to follow CDC and ACIP guidance, as well as recommendations from AAP, AAFP, and ACOG.

Effective Dates:

• This updated guidance clarifies DOPL’s April 2024 guidance and takes effect immediately.

• If ACIP issues updated 2026-2027 recommendations and the CDC adopts them, this guidance expires upon the date of adoption.

A copy of the guidance letter is attached.
